Becoming a Dad
Poetry about my first son
1/26/20241 min read

With my trembling hands, I cradled you,
Pure and innocent and smelling so unique and new.
Within my arms, my sleeping baby boy coos and curls,
Here begins my sonnet of devotion, where blessings in my mind swirl.
With gently hummed melodies, I lulled you to sleep,
Whispering dreams, secrets for Silas to keep.
Stories of marvels, painted in vivid hues,
A new father's love, nourishing his baby boy anew.
Many sleepless nights and weary days,
Dad fights all his fatherly battles, love guiding his ways.
A stone of resilience, embracing every moment,
In the art of fatherhood, my spirit is emboldened.
My voice, a sonorous verse, tender and kind,
Weaving lullabies, memories intertwined.
With laughter and tears, memories and emotions profound,
My fatherly love for my son, forever shall resound.
And as the years gracefully dance along,
Dad and his son forever belong.
Bound by a love only a dad can declare,
Together we embark on a timeless affair.
You bring me so much love and joy. Thank you Silas.
