Despair - Poem
Old Abandoned Pali Highway Poem influenced by the desolate overgrowth

In the shadow's grasp, where light has wilted,
Savage unbound despair goes unrefuted,
Haunting melodies within our souls,
A cacophony of sorrows,
It creeps and weave through weary hearts,
Quiet whispers turned to deafening wails,
Grief's touch, a cold hand upon warm skin,
Eliciting uncontrollable tears from within.
In twilight's embrace, despair takes form,
A beast that gnaws upon hope's fragile face,
It feeds on dreams deferred and love misplaced,
Yet within despair's unyielding grip,
A glimmer of hope exists,
For deep within the darkest night,
Shines a spark that ignites.
Let us not succumb to the despairing current,
But stand against its winds and tides,
For within the deepest depths of our despair,
Comes a character pure and fair.
